Stay Brown
Documentary
Stay Brown is about a larger-than-life former low rider named Che from the Mission District of San Francisco. His persona and old school lifestyle inspired the character "Che Rivera" played by his childhood friend, actor Benjamin Bratt (Blood In Blood Out, Coco, The Infiltrator, Miss Congeniality), in the 2009 indie feature film La Mission, written and directed by Benjamin's brother Peter Bratt (Follow Me Home, Dolores). We get an in-depth look into his life and story as told by him. The title refers to Che’s dicho (saying) “stay brown” - staying true to yourself, staying real and never forgetting who you are and where you come from.
